A female staff member of the child safety project under the Department of Social Services allegedly committed suicide at a women’s hostel in Mohammadpur upazila of Magura district on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Papia Dutta, 39. She was the mother of a daughter and resided at a women’s hostel located within the Upazila Parishad premises, reports UNB.
Her husband, Mithun Dhar, lives in Khulna.
Authorities are investigating the incident.
