Adverse weather caused disruptions at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram, resulting in the cancellation of one flight and significant delays for three others, airport authorities confirmed in a press release on Tuesday evening.
According to the airport’s public relations department, poor weather conditions made it impossible to operate several flights on schedule, affecting passengers across domestic and international routes.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG138, travelling from Medina to Chattogram, was diverted to Dhaka at 9:40 am due to the unfavourable weather. The aircraft later returned to Chattogram at 2:01 pm before departing for Dhaka as a domestic flight at 3:20 pm.
Private carriers were also affected. US-Bangla Airlines flight BS-342 on the Dubai–Chattogram–Dhaka route faced a delay of approximately four and a half hours after landing in Chattogram, departing for Dhaka at 3:09 pm. Meanwhile, the airline’s flight BS-105 on the Dhaka–Chattogram–Dhaka route was cancelled.
International operations saw delays as well, with flydubai flight FDB-564 on the Chattogram–Dubai route departing at 12:16 pm, roughly three hours behind schedule.
Passengers are advised to check flight status with their respective airlines before travelling.
