Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC has inaugurated the shipment of printed circuit board assemblies to the United States, marking a new step in Bangladesh’s push to expand its presence in advanced technology manufacturing.
The export shipment was formally launched on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC’s headquarters in Chandra, Gazipur, where Minister of Post and Telecommunication, ICT Division and Ministry of Science & Technology Faqir Mahbub Anam and Prime Minister’s ICT Adviser Rehan Asif Asad cut a ribbon to inaugurate the consignment, Walton said in a press release.
The company said the PCBAs, or Printed Circuit Board Assemblies, are manufactured in Bangladesh and will be used in security devices integrated into sophisticated gunshot detection and emergency response systems in the United States.
The products are being imported by SAFEPRO Technologies Inc, a Wisconsin-based technology company that provides life-saving security solutions for educational institutions and public facilities across America.
The launch underscores Walton’s growing ambition to position Bangladesh as a supplier in the global electronics value chain. The company said it is manufacturing world-class, high-tech motherboards in Bangladesh not only to meet its own production requirements and domestic demand, but also to supply international markets.
Among those present at the event were Parliament’s Member for Gazipur-1 Constituency Md Mujibur Rahman, Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC Managing Director S M Mahbubul Alam, and Directors S M Nurul Alam Rezvi and S M Monjurul Alam Ovee.
During the visit, Faqir Mahbub Anam and Rehan Asif Asad toured Walton’s manufacturing facilities and praised the scale of the company’s operations and its technological capacity.
“Walton is amazing. We are highly impressed by the scale, sophistication and quality of its manufacturing facilities,” Faqir Mahbub Anam said. “Walton has demonstrated that Bangladesh is capable of producing world-class technology products. Walton is not only manufacturing a wide range of electronics and technology products, but also exporting them to various markets around the world including the United States. Walton is a matter of our national pride.”
The minister said the government, under the leadership of the incumbent Prime Minister, remained committed to supporting local industries and improving their global competitiveness.
“In the proposed budget for FY2026-27, we have taken initiatives aimed at encouraging locally manufactured products. We are reviewing the tax structure to provide greater incentives for Bangladeshi industries and help them expand further,” he said.
Before the factory tour, the minister and the PM’s ICT adviser were welcomed at Walton Headquarters and attended a documentary presentation on the company’s journey and achievements. They later visited Walton’s product display centre and toured several production facilities, including the Surface Mount Technology motherboard production unit, television panel clean room, PCB manufacturing unit, and mould and die facilities.
Walton has emerged as one of Bangladesh’s leading technology manufacturers, operating a large industrial complex in Kaliakair, Gazipur. The company manufactures refrigerators, compressors, televisions, air conditioners, laptops, desktop computers, mobile phones, fans, VRF and chiller systems, electrical and home appliances, elevators and other advanced technology products.
It has also set up dedicated facilities for research and innovation, quality control and international business operations.
Carrying the “Made in Bangladesh” label, Walton products are currently exported to more than 55 countries across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Americas. The company aims to expand its reach to more than 100 countries as it seeks to establish itself as one of the world’s leading technology brands.
