Walton Hi-Tech Industries posted an 8.49 per cent increase in earnings for FY2025-26 as a sharp drop in finance costs strengthened its bottom line and cash flow.
The board of directors of the electronics maker recommended a 180 per cent cash dividend, meaning Tk18 per share and a 10 per cent stock dividend.
The company’s earnings per share rose to Tk33.75 in the year ended 30 June 2026, from Tk31.11 for the previous year, according to a price-sensitive information disclosure following a board meeting on Saturday.
Net operating cash flow per share increased 20.43 per cent to Tk63.72 from Tk52.91.
Finance costs fell by Tk267.26 crore, reducing their share of sales to 2.45 per cent from 6.33 per cent a year earlier. The lower borrowing burden was the main driver of the earnings improvement, according to the company’s financial disclosure.
Walton’s board recommended a cash dividend of Tk18 per share, equivalent to 180 per cent of the Tk10 face value, along with one bonus share for every 10 shares held.
The 10 per cent stock dividend will come from retained earnings.
It will support capacity expansion of the company’s Green Energy project through balancing, modernisation, rehabilitation, and expansion, according to the disclosure.
The stronger cash position was also reflected in collections from customers, which rose by Tk694.36 crore, while payments to suppliers declined 2.31 per cent.
Walton’s net asset value per share, excluding revaluation reserves, rose to Tk280.24 from Tk262.08. Including revaluation, it increased to Tk381.26 from Tk363.40.
Shareholders must hold the shares on 20 September to qualify for the proposed dividends.
The recommendations will be placed before the company’s 20th annual general meeting on 15 October, which will be held virtually.
Walton shares had closed 2.64 per cent higher at Tk393.2 on the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Thursday.
