Police have recovered body of van driver Nurul from a paddy field in Rangpur, after he was strangled to death by thieves who also stole his van.
The body was discovered around on Sunday in a paddy field in Mukta Gari village, located in the Boroalampur Union of Pirgonj.
The deceased was identified as Nurul, a resident of Gobindapara village in the Chattra Union.
OC Sohail Rana of Pirgonj Police Station confirmed, upon receiving information from the locals, police recovered the body and brought it to the station.
The body will be sent to the morgue at Rangpur Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
He added that the preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was traveling from Chattra to Khalashpir on Saturday night, when the assailants strangled him and stole the van.
A case has been filed in connection with the incident, and further investigations are underway.
