United Finance Acting Managing Director Mohammed Abul Ahsan said the company continued to support micro, cottage and small entrepreneurs despite weak private-sector credit growth.

“Our enhanced due diligence and governance have improved portfolio quality even as we expanded lending, and the 31% rise in deposits reflects the trust our customers place in us,” he said.

The company maintained a capital adequacy ratio of 16.36 per cent at the end of September, exceeding the regulatory minimum of 10 per cent by 6.36 percentage points.

It also reported provisions above regulatory requirements and liquidity exceeding the prescribed minimum, although the release did not disclose the corresponding amounts.
