The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) celebrated its 8th Convocation on Tuesday at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center, held under the theme “informed minds, inspire paths”.
Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Hon’ble Adviser for the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Ministry of Water Resources, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, attended the event as the chancellor’s representative.
She formally declared the convocation open and presided over the ceremony, reads a press release.
Mohammad Ayub Islam, Member of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, graced the occasion as the Special Guest, while Syed Nasim Manzur, Managing Director of Apex Footwear Limited, delivered the Convocation Address.
The ceremony was also addressed by Ms. Syeda Madiha Murshed, Member of the ULAB Board of Trustees, and Professor Imran Rahman, Vice Chancellor of ULAB.
The Valedictorian’s Award was presented to Mr. Tashin Huq, a Bachelor of Business Administration graduate, who achieved a CGPA of 3.86. Two students from both the undergraduate and graduate programs were honored as Gold Medalists.
This year, a total of 1,508 students received their certificates, including 1,111 undergraduates and 397 graduates.
