United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) has signed a comprehensive banking services agreement with Trade International Industries Ltd, a concern of Electro Mart Ltd and the sole distributor of international consumer electronics and home appliance brands GREE, KONKA and HAIKO in Bangladesh.
Under the agreement UCB will provide comprehensive banking services, particularly focused on efficient payment collection across Trade International Industries’ nationwide distributor and dealer network, the bank said in a press release on Thursday.
“The agreement aims to streamline financial transactions by leveraging United Commercial Bank’s extensive branch network across the country, ensuring faster, transparent and more convenient payment processes,” it said.
The agreement signing ceremony was held at the corporate office of Trade International Industries.
The agreement was signed by Trade International Deputy Managing Director Nurul Afser and UCB Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Transaction Banking Division Shahbaj Talat on behalf of their respective organisations.
Senior officials from both institutions were present at the ceremony.
The collaboration is expected to support modernisation of financial operations in the consumer electronics and home appliance sector and improve operational efficiency across the distribution ecosystem.
