Two fuel-laden vessels are expected to reach the outer anchorage of Chattogram Port on Wednesday, as Bangladesh continues efforts to maintain an uninterrupted energy supply.
A tanker carrying approximately 26,000 tonnes of refined octane is scheduled to arrive from Malaysia.
The vessel, MT Central Star, sailing under the Marshall Islands flag, is likely to reach the port within the day, officials said.
The import operation is being overseen by the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation.
In addition, another vessel transporting around 25,000 tonnes of furnace oil is also due to arrive at the outer anchorage on the same day.
The tanker, MT Eastern Queens, is currently en route to the port.
Officials said that despite ongoing tensions in the Middle East, efforts are underway to ensure a steady supply of fuel across the country through regular imports.
Meanwhile, two liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers-Cool Voyager and Gas Journey-arrived at the outer anchorage of Chattogram Port on 5 April, according to Syed Refayet Hamim, secretary of the Chattogram Port Authority.
