US President Donald Trump on Thursday said the US military would launch fresh strikes on Iran and warned that American forces would soon move to seize key Iranian oil infrastructure.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the US military would hit Iran “Very hard tonight”.
“At some point in the not too distant future, we will be taking Kharg Island, and other oil infrastructure points, and assume total control of their Oil and Gas Markets, much like we have with Venezuela,” he wrote.
He also indicated plans for broader control over Iran’s energy assets, including major oil infrastructure locations.
The statement comes amid escalating tensions and renewed military activity involving Iran, as Washington signals further pressure on Tehran’s energy sector.
