Former secretary ABM Abdus Sattar has been appointed principal secretary to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification regarding the appointment on Tuesday night.
According to the notification, under Section 49 of the Public Service Act, 2018, Abdus Sattar has been appointed to the post of the Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary on a contractual basis for a tenure of one year from the date of his joining.
The appointment requires him to give up any other profession, business, or affiliation with government, semi-government, or private institutions.
The notification further stated that other terms and conditions of this appointment will be determined by the contract agreement.
On Monday, the government cancelled the contract of M Siraz Uddin Miah, who had been serving as Principal Secretary to Interim Government Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus.
