Back-to-back half-centuries against Zimbabwe have lifted Tanzid Hasan to a career-best position in the latest ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings.
The Bangladesh opener jumped seven places to 20th, following his match-winning contributions in Bangladesh’s 2-1 series victory over Zimbabwe. Fellow opener Saif Hasan also enjoyed a significant rise, climbing nine places to 27th after an impressive series.
Bangladesh’s bowlers also made progress in the weekly rankings update released by the ICC on Wednesday. Mahedi Hasan moved up four places to 19th among T20I bowlers, while Rishad Hossain gained eight spots to share 25th position.
Zimbabwe opener Brian Bennett also reached a career-high ranking, rising two places to ninth among T20I batters. Fast bowler Richard Ngarava enjoyed one of the biggest gains of the week, climbing 37 places to 32nd in the T20I bowling rankings.
The latest ODI rankings also featured several notable changes.
New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell retained the No. 1 spot among ODI batters with 802 rating points, although India’s top order closed the gap after the recent series against England. Shubman Gill remained second, just one point behind Mitchell, while Virat Kohli stayed third and Rohit Sharma fourth.
England’s Joe Root climbed four places to eighth after finishing the series unbeaten on 249 runs. Ben Duckett and Jacob Bethell also improved their positions.
Among ODI bowlers, Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan continued to lead the rankings. Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz retained second place in the ODI all-rounder rankings, while New Zealand’s Michael Bracewell climbed to a career-best third.
