The body of a Sylhet businessman was discovered hanging in a hotel room on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Mofazzal Haque Saurav, 32, owner of Tonni Kitchen, a restaurant in the Lamabazar area.
According to hotel staff, Saurav was staying on the fifth floor of Relax Inn, a residential hotel in northern Dhopadighi. Staff found him hanging around 3:30 pm and immediately alerted the police. Officers broke open the door and recovered his body.
The body was sent to Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, confirmed Khan Muhammad Mainul Zakir, Officer-in-Charge (acting) of Kotwali Thana.
He added that legal procedures are underway as the investigation continues.
