The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bangladesh Institute of ICT in Development (BIID) last Wednesday, at the ULAB campus, aiming to strengthen interdisciplinary research and sustainable development initiatives.
The signing ceremony was chaired by ULAB Vice Chancellor Shamsad Mortuza, and attended by BIID CEO Md Shahid Uddin Akbar, Muhammad Golam Kibria, head of the CSE Department, and other senior faculty members, reads a press release.
In his remarks, Shamsad highlighted the importance of academia-industry collaboration in promoting innovation, knowledge exchange and impactful research.
The MoU was signed by Md Salah Uddin Akbar, in-charge, administration, BIID Foundation, and Lt Col Md Foyzul Islam (retd.), registrar, ULAB.
Established in 2019 as a not-for-profit organisation, BIID works in key areas including agriculture, nutrition and entrepreneurship, aligned with national and global development priorities, with a strong focus on ICT and innovation.
The collaboration with BIID is expected to create valuable opportunities for interdisciplinary research, knowledge sharing, innovation and the development of technology-driven solutions that contribute to sustainable development.
