Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast squally winds and rain, including thunderstorms, over six divisions of the country on Tuesday.
According to a weather bulletin for inland river ports, gusty or squally winds may blow between 5am and 1pm. Dhaka, Mymensingh, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions are expected to be affected.
The bulletin said temporary gusts of 45–60 kilometre per hour from the west or northwest could sweep across these areas, accompanied by rain or thundershowers.
River ports in the affected regions have been advised to hoist cautionary signal No. 1.
Vessels navigating river routes have been urged to proceed carefully, keeping weather conditions in mind.
