A total of 312 schools across the country recorded a zero percent pass rate in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations.
According to official sources, these include 57 institutions under nine general education boards, 226 under Madrasah Education Board, and 29 under Technical Education Board.
One overseas centre also registered a zero per cent pass rate, with no candidate passing the examinations from there.
Around 10am on Monday, Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon inaugurated the publication of the results at the conference room of the Education Ministry.
During the event, the chairmen of all education boards handed over the SSC exam results to the minister.
A total of 1,857,344 students had filled out forms for this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations.
Out of these candidates, 1,418,398 were registered for SSC exams under nine general education boards, 304,286 for Dakhil exams under Madrasah Education Board, and 1,34,660 for SSC (vocational) exams under Technical Education Board.
