Bangladesh Cricket Board confirmed the full squads on Sunday for the Odommo Bangladesh T20 Cup 2026, a domestic tournament set to run from 5 February at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
Bangladesh will not travel to India for the T20 World Cup due to security concerns. The board responded by creating a short, sharp competition to keep its best players match-fit and financially protected.
Three teams will contest the tournament. Litton Das leads Dhumketu XI, Najmul Hossain Shanto captains Durbar XI, and Akbar Ali takes charge of Duronto XI.
BCB also locked in the coaching staff. Mohammad Salahuddin heads Dhumketu with Mohammad Ashraful as assistant, while Mizanur Rahman Babul works with Tushar Imran at Durbar. Duronto will feature Hannan Sarkar and Rajin Saleh in the support staff.
The squads blend senior internationals with emerging names. That balance gives the tournament edge, intensity and a genuine selection subplot ahead of future international assignments.
Dhumketu XI look loaded with pace and experience. Litton Das, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Shariful Islam and Tanvir Hasan Sakib give them bite with both new and old balls.
Durbar Xi shape up as the all-rounders’ team. Shanto, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Afif Hossain and Mohammad Saifuddin offer flexibility, while Hasan Mahmud and Khaled Ahmed add muscle.
Duronto XI lean into youth. Akbar Ali leads a side packed with Under-19 and emerging players, making them unpredictable and dangerous on flat Mirpur pitches.
The format keeps things tight. Dhumketu face Duronto on 5 February, Dhumketu meet Durbar the next day, and Durbar play Duronto on 7 February before the final on 9 February.
All matches will start at 6pm in Mirpur, with cultural programmes from 4pm and the IPL-style Impact Player rule in play. Bangladesh may be missing a World Cup, but this tournament ensures the cricket does not stop.
