Shonar Bangla Circus is preparing to launch a new solo concert series titled Mohashoshan Jatra, with the opening show scheduled for Dhaka this August.
The alternative rock band will take the concert series to all eight divisional cities of Bangladesh. Speaking to Prothom Alo, the band’s vocalist and lyricist, Probar Ripon, confirmed that the first performance will be held in the capital. The tour will also include a concert in Cox’s Bazar in addition to the eight divisional cities.
The concert series is inspired by the band’s concept album Mohashoshan, which was released on 8 January. The 17-track album features songs including Bertho Manush, Aguner Ponkhiraj, Duburi and the title track Mohashoshan.
The title song has attracted nearly 250,000 views on YouTube and received more than 1,200 comments. Many listeners have said the song reminds them of their mothers.
Shonar Bangla Circus previously organised the Hyena Express Experience solo tour, which ran from 2021 to 2025.
The band’s current line-up includes Probar Ripon, Seth Panduranga Blumberg, Shakil Haque, Saad Chowdhury and Samiul Momith.
