Actress Tania Brishty has returned to acting after an absence of nearly nine months. She stepped away from work after doctors diagnosed her with a brain tumour and began treatment. As her health has improved, she recently resumed work with the television drama Angshider, directed by Iqsan Roni.

The director completed filming three to four days ago. The drama features Brishti in one of its leading roles, alongside Dolly Zahur, Fazlur Rahman Babu and around eight or nine other actors. Roni wrote the story and screenplay, while Faruk Ahmed Rana and Nandi Jewel wrote the dialogues.

Roni said Angshider presents a realistic picture of society. The story explores women’s rightful claims, self-respect and the courage to stand up against injustice.

Brishty said she had previously worked with Roni on the drama Baba O Manus, which received a positive response. She described Angshider as the story of a woman’s determined struggle to secure her inheritance.

“Families with only daughters still face various social and family pressures in our society. In particular, attempts to deprive daughters of their parental property after their father’s death remain common in many cases. This drama addresses the issue and also shows a way towards a solution. I hope viewers will enjoy it and that it will deliver a positive message to society,” she said.

Expressing gratitude to God for being able to return to work, Brishty said: “I am immensely grateful to Almighty Allah. I have recovered to some extent and have been able to return to my professional work. I ask everyone to pray that Allah grants me a full recovery.”

Doctors diagnosed Brishty with a brain tumour in February this year, after which she began treatment. She spent nearly nine months undergoing medical care. The actress said the love and support she received from fans during this period gave her courage.

“I might not have been able to return at all. My physical condition was that serious. Alhamdulillah, I am much better now than before. Many people wanted me to return to television dramas. They stood by me throughout this long period and gave me their love and support. I have returned to acting because of them. I also missed acting very much,” she said.

Brishti continues to follow her doctors’ advice. She spends her leisure time with her six pet cats, which also accompany her when she goes out.
