Shilpi Begum, who had been jailed with her baby, was released on Wednesday after completing bail formalities.
Shilpi, also Jubo Mohila League leader, was walked out of the Kashimpur Central Jail, with her one‑and‑a‑half‑month‑old baby, said defense lawyer Farzana Yasmin Rakhi.
She was arrested in an explosives case filed with Tejgaon Police Station in Dhaka. She was granted bail Tuesday night.
Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman granted Shilpi Begum bail at a hearing Tuesday evening.
Earlier, her bail plea had been rejected, and she was sent to jail along with her infant.
Shilpi was arrested from her residence on Railway Colony Station Road under Tejgaon Police Station around 7:15pm on Monday.
The investigation has revealed that the accused played an active role in suppressing the anti-discrimination student movement in 2024. Police in a petition said that it was necessary to keep her in jail custody until the investigation concluded.
