Presenter Shanta Jahan has completed nearly 15 years in the industry, establishing herself as one of Bangladesh’s most recognisable and trusted television hosts.
Known for her quick thinking and ability to handle unexpected situations on stage, Shanta has brought a distinct energy to a wide range of programmes.
Her work has earned her praise from audiences as well as recognition from various organisations, including awards for Best Presenter.
Over the past decade and a half, she has hosted numerous programmes both in Bangladesh and abroad. Despite being eligible to receive awards for presenting certain high-profile events, Shanta has deliberately stayed away from programmes where such recognition is often expected.
Shanta began her career with acting and received a positive response. However, she eventually realised that acting was not where she belonged.
She chose presenting instead and decided to devote herself entirely to the profession.
That focus helped her establish herself among the country’s leading presenters and made her a trusted choice for event organisers.
Although she has little interest in returning to television dramas, Shanta still hopes to work in films.
One of her long-standing ambitions is to act in a female-led film with a strong central character.
Reflecting on her journey, Shanta said the road to success was far from easy.
“Getting to where I am today was not easy. I entered presenting because I loved it and felt drawn to it, but I never imagined that it would become such a major part of my life and shape the way I live and think. Still, through hard work, talent and perseverance, I have been able to reach my goal,” she said.
“Obstacles are inevitable in every profession. But true success lies in overcoming those obstacles and earning people’s love. I am grateful to my fans and audiences, who have always inspired me throughout my journey. I am also grateful to those who continue to invite me to perform at stage shows at home and abroad, as well as to the television channels in Bangladesh,” she added.
Shanta has also made a name for herself as a model.
She gained widespread recognition after appearing in advertisements, particularly as a model for bKash.
