Shamsunnahar Junior is maintaining an impressive run in the Bangladesh Women’s Football League. On Saturday, Farashganj defeated Bangladesh Army Sports Club Limited 1-0, with Shamsunnahar netting the decisive goal. This marked the team’s fifth consecutive victory, and the forward from Kalsindur, Mymensingh, was once again named player of the match.

The winning goal came in the second half at Kamalapur Bir Sreshtho Shaheed Mostafa Kamal Stadium. From a challenging angle, Shamsunnahar delivered a powerful left-footed strike past Army goalkeeper Mili Akter. Following a red card that reduced the Army side to ten players, they were unable to recover, leaving Shamsunnahar’s goal as the match-winner.

When asked if she considered it the best goal of the league, Shamsunnahar said, “Not just in the league, but nationally as well… most of my goals are headers, and I enjoy scoring with my head the most. Scoring this in a tough match makes it my best. Being player of the match in all five games so far feels fantastic.”

Shamsunnahar Junior has scored 19 goals in five matches in the current league.
