Singer and composer Shams Sumon has recently lent his voice to his original song ‘Swapnochura’.
The vocals were recorded at Artlab Studio in New Jersey, United States, while he was there.
The song features lyrics by Rajib Hasan Russell, who also arranged the music. Shams Sumon composed the tune.
Speaking about ‘Swapnochura’, Shams Sumon said, “Swapnochura is my original song. I really liked Rajib Hasan Russell’s lyrics, which inspired me to compose the tune myself. Rajib also arranged the music. I liked the song as a whole, so I decided to sing it as well. After recording the vocals, I listened to the song several times and liked how it turned out. I hope listeners will enjoy it when it is released. I am grateful to Rajib Hasan Russell.”
The singer and composer has also recently composed three songs for acclaimed singer Fahmida Nabi.
Written by Golam Morshed, the songs are titled ‘Dukher Dolil’, ‘Aslona Brishti’ and ‘Ichche Kore’. All three are solo songs by Fahmida Nabi.
Arafat Basunia has arranged the music for the songs, while their music videos have already been completed.
The tracks are set to be released soon on the Gaan Janala YouTube channel.
Explaining how he ended up composing three songs for Fahmida Nabi at once, Shams Sumon said, “Golam Morshed bhai took the initiative to release these three songs. He and Fahmida apa have been working together for 25 years. He played one of my compositions for her, and she liked it. Later, he played two more songs, and she liked those as well. That is why she ended up recording all three.”
Shams Sumon returned to his workplace in Dubai yesterday after completing his stay in the United States.
With several new projects in the pipeline, the singer and composer is now looking forward to the release of ‘Swapnochura’ and the three songs he composed for Fahmida Nabi.
