Shakti Foundation has secured the First Runner-Up Award for its BCEP Project at the CPD Climate Week 2025, recognising its innovative approach among six shortlisted institutions.
The event was organised by the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) at BRAC Centre Inn in Dhaka.
The award was handed over on Monday by CPD executive director Fahmida Khatun and Royal Danish Embassy deputy head of mission Anders B Carlsen during the closing ceremony of the four-day conference.
Held from October 18 to 21, the Climate Week brought together policymakers, researchers, civil society members, youth representatives, and private sector entrepreneurs to discuss sustainable climate strategies.
During the event, Shakti Foundation showcased two flagship initiatives — the Lautola Forest and the Rural Electrification Model — drawing significant attention for their community-driven climate solutions.
Its exhibition booth was visited by environment adviser to the interim government Syeda Rizwana Hasan, World Bank lead economist Syed Amir Ahmed, Royal Danish Embassy deputy head of mission Anders B Carlsen, and other national and international experts.
Through its participation, Shakti Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to advancing local climate resilience and inspiring young leaders to work towards a sustainable and equitable future, according to a Shakti Foundation press release.
