Rain or thundershowers may occur in parts of the country over the next 24 hours from 9am today, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department said.

According to a Met office bulletin, a few places in Sylhet division may see rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds and lightning. One or two places in Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barishal and Chattogram divisions may also receive rainfall.

Weather elsewhere in the country may remain mainly dry with a partly cloudy sky.

A mild heat wave is sweeping across Khulna division and the districts of Faridpur, Rajshahi, Pabna and Sirajganj. The condition may continue.

Day and night temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged across the country.

The highest temperature on Monday was recorded at 37.5°C in Rajshahi. Today’s minimum temperature was 20.1°C in Rajarhat under Rangpur division.

The sun will set at 6:20pm today and rise at 5:38am tomorrow in Dhaka.
