BNP Standing Committee member and candidate for Cox’s Bazar-1 (Chakaria-Pekua) constituency Salahuddin Ahmed cast his vote at 8:20am on Thursday in the 13th parliamentary election and referendum.
He cast his vote at the Pekua Government Model GMC Institution in Pekua Upazila, standing in line with his eldest son, Ibrahim Ahmed. He confirmed the matter to the media.
Salahuddin Ahmed said, “The day I have been waiting for 17 long years is today. A turning point in history has begun. I stood at the end of the line to cast my vote. Everyone here is now aware of their right to vote. So far, the election environment is beautiful and normal.”
After casting his vote, Salahuddin Ahmed will visit various polling centres in Pekua and Chakaria upazilas.
