Mohamed Salah will miss the rest of the season after picking up a hamstring injury during Premier League action against Crystal Palace. His side Liverpool FC won the match 3-1.

The 33-year-old winger left the field in the 60th minute. He clapped to the fans as he walked off with the injury.

Liverpool have not given an official update yet. But Egypt national team director Ibrahim Hassan said Salah has suffered a hamstring tear. He added that the forward will need around four weeks to recover. This means Salah has likely played his final match for Liverpool.

Liverpool still have a few matches left. They will face Manchester United away and host Chelsea FC before the season ends.

There is better news for Egypt. Hassan said Salah should be fit for the 2026 World Cup. Egypt are set to face Belgium, New Zealand and Iran in Group G.

Salah wants to return in time for the tournament in North America. It will start on June 11. He hopes to avoid the problems he faced before the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Back then, he injured his shoulder in the UEFA Champions League Final against Real Madrid. He still scored twice in the tournament, but Egypt could not get past the group stage.
