Bangladesh posted a competitive 186-5 against Zimbabwe in the second T20I of the three match series after strong opening stands from Saif Hassan and Tanzid Hasan Tamim, followed by a late assault from Mohammad Saifuddin.

The visitors made a flying start after being asked to bat first at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. Openers Saif Hassan and Tanzid Hasan Tamim attacked from the beginning and found runs all around the ground.

Bangladesh reached 54 without loss in the first six overs.

The pair continued their fine batting after the powerplay. They added more than 100 runs for the opening wicket. Both batters reached their half centuries during the partnership.

Saif was the first to fall after scoring 55 from 45 balls. The opening stand ended at 120. Tanzid followed in the next over after making 58 from 44 deliveries.

Bangladesh then suffered a collapse. The team slipped from 120 to 141 while losing five wickets.

Captain Towhid Hridoy managed only six runs from five balls. Parvez Hossain Emon scored one from two balls. Nurul Hasan Sohan struck a boundary with his first delivery before getting out on the next ball.

Yasir Ali kept the innings alive in the closing overs. He received good support from Mohammad Saifuddin, who produced a brilliant finish.

Saifuddin smashed four sixes in the final over, which yielded 28 runs. Bangladesh finished on 186-5 from 20 overs.

Saifuddin remained unbeaten on 31 from just 10 balls. Yasir Ali was unbeaten on 22 from 12 deliveries.

For Zimbabwe, Richard Ngarava and Brad Evans claimed two wickets each. Sikandar Raza took one wicket.
