Robi Axiata PLC has won the Silver Award in the IT and Telecommunications category at the 15th Best Corporate Awards of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB).
The award was presented at an official ceremony, where Internal Resources Division Secretary and National Board of Revenue Chairman Md Abdur Rahman Khan handed the accolade to Robi Director of Public Affairs and Sustainability Sharif Shah Jamal Raj and Associate Director of the Company Secretariat Md Shahidur Rahman.
The ICMAB Best Corporate Awards recognise organisations for strong corporate governance, financial transparency, statutory compliance and sustainable business practices.
Commenting on the achievement, Robi Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer Shahed Alam said the recognition reflects the company’s continued focus on governance, transparency and sustainability.
He said Robi believes responsible and sustainable business practices are essential to delivering long-term value for customers, stakeholders and the country’s digital progress.
Robi Axiata PLC is a publicly listed company with Malaysia-based Axiata Group Berhad holding 61.82 per cent of the shares, while India-based Bharti Airtel owns 28.18 per cent and public shareholders hold the remaining 10 per cent.
Robi is the second largest mobile network operator in Bangladesh and provides digital services across urban and rural areas through sustained investment in nationwide telecom infrastructure.
The company said its network and digital platforms play a key role in supporting the country’s growing digital ecosystem by enabling access to connectivity and innovation across Bangladesh.
