The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has recovered five pipeguns, three rounds of spent cartridge casings, and 4.7 kg of cannabis during a raid on an abandoned building in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj.
A special operational team from Crime Prevention Special Company (CPSC) of RAB-11 conducted the drive at around 3am on Thursday night in Tarabo area of the upazila.
Acting on secret information, the RAB team carried out the raid on the abandoned building. Sensing the presence of the elite force, several individuals inside the building managed to flee the scene.
A subsequent search of the building yielded five pipeguns, three rounds of spent cartridge casings, and 4 kg 700 grams of cannabis.
According to RAB, the recovered firearms and narcotics were found in an abandoned state. Legal processes are currently underway to identify and arrest the individuals involved.
RAB also mentioned that operations against illegal weapons, narcotics, and terrorism will continue in Narayanganj and surrounding areas.
