Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested a drug dealer, Md Mintu Sheikh alias Mintu Mia, from the capital’s Karwan Bazar area. Mintu is accused in 29 cases.
RAB‑2 Deputy Director (Media) Major M Mubin Rahman Taposh confirmed the arrest on Thursday, saying a special operation was carried out in Karwan Bazar under Tejgaon Police Station on Wednesday afternoon following a tip‑off.
According to RAB, Mintu had long been involved in criminal activities such as armed snatching, theft, and drug trafficking in Karwan Bazar and other parts of the city.
Of the cases, 16 were filed with Tejgaon Police Station, including four for robbery and attempted murder.
