Sadia Jahan Prova has expressed her anger after a promotional poster for the upcoming drama Look A Like used one of her personal photographs without her permission.

OTT platform Bongo has been promoting the drama, which stars Mosharraf Karim, Sadia Jahan Prova, Chitralekha Guha and Saidur Rahman Pavel. The platform had already released the trailer and several posters ahead of the drama’s release.

On the day of its release, Bongo published a new promotional poster featuring one of Prova’s personal photographs instead of an image or look from the drama. The poster quickly drew negative reactions from social media users.

After noticing the post, Prova responded in a Facebook statement, criticising the decision. She said the designer had made a serious mistake by using a photograph taken from her Instagram account.

“The image was taken by me using a Bluetooth remote. It is my personal photograph,” she wrote. “Most importantly, if the photo has no connection with the drama or its story, it should never have been used. The poster designer, director or production team should have contacted me and sought my permission before using a photograph from my Instagram account.”

Prova described the incident as unprofessional, saying the use of someone’s personal photograph without consent was unacceptable.

Following her response, Bongo removed the poster from its official page. The platform later released a replacement poster featuring Prova’s look from the drama instead.
