General customers of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC have formed a human chain and protested in Chattogram and Pabna demanding the removal of newly appointed chairman Khurshid Alam. Participants alleged irregularities and called on the authorities to take immediate action to ensure transparency and accountability in the institution.

The programme was held under the banner of “Islami Bank Conscious Customer Forum” in front of the regional office of Islami Bank located in Agrabad of the city on Tuesday at around 11am.
The customers participating in the human chain alleged that it has become urgent to immediately remove the current chairman to restructure the current fragile management system of the bank and ensure the interests of general depositors and the security of their deposits.
The protesters raised various slogans demanding the removal of the chairman. They sought urgent intervention of the concerned authorities to restore the lost trust of customers and good governance in the banking sector.
More than a hundred customers from different classes and professions of Chattogram participated in the programme. A team of double mooring police station of Chattogram Metropolitan Police was on alert at the scene to maintain law and order during the human chain.
Pabna

A human chain was also held in Pabna demanding the cancellation of the appointment of the new chairman of Islami Bank.
The human chain was organised by the Islami Bank Customer Forum on Abdul Hamid Road in front of the Pabna press club on Tuesday afternoon.
The speakers in the human chain said that the appointment of the newly appointed chairman of Islami Bank, Khurshid Alam, a fascist collaborator and friend of the S Alam Group, should be cancelled.
The chairman of the bank should be appointed based on competence and acceptability, not political considerations. Otherwise, the speakers warned of a strict movement.
During the human chain, moderated by Ikramul Haque, the convener of the Islami Bank Customer Forum Pabna branch, Abdur Rahman, journalist Abu Saleh Md Abdullah, businessman Nur Islam Ujjal, President of the District Kinder Garden Association Mahfuzur Rahman, businessman Obaidur Rahman Khan, Professor Rafiqul Islam and many others spoke.
