Proper education essential in era of AI: Tarique Rahman

Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s (BNP) acting chairman Tarique Rahman has said that the doors of the world are now open for the meritorious.

He said, “The world has now entered the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The doors of the world are now open for the meritorious. Competition of knowledge, intellect, merit, and qualification is ongoing everywhere. Therefore, for students to survive in this competitive world, it is essential to be receive proper education.”

He made these remarks as the chief guest, joining virtually, at the results ceremony for the BNP-announced 31-point state structure reform merit scholarship exam, organised by the Khondker Shamsul Alam Foundation at the Kishoreganj Government Boys High School on Saturday.

Tarique Rahman said, “Whether you study in a madrasa or a school, remember that to survive with dignity, you must be skilled in modern and practical education. You must become proficient in knowledge, science, and technical education.”

He further said, “BNP is working to structure the future education system in harmony with modern science and innovative technology. In the current world, there is no alternative to dedication and strong willpower in the competition to make oneself more skilled than others.”

Tarique Rahman reminded the students that regular practice, proper nurturing, and strong willpower are necessary for the development of talent. He said, “Even though talent is innate, continuous effort is required for its development.”

The event was organised by the Khondker Shamsul Alam Foundation. Teachers and students from various educational institutions in the district, along with local individuals, were present.

Presided over by District BNP President Md Shariful Alam, the event was attended by, among others, Chairman’s Adviser Abdus Salam, Chairman’s Education Affairs Secretary Mahadi Amin, party Press Wing member Sairul Kabir Khan, District General Secretary Mazharul Islam, and Chhatra Dal Central Committee President Rakibul Islam Rakib.

According to information from the Khondker Shamsul Alam Foundation, 10,211 students from 84 secondary, higher secondary, and madrasa educational institutions in Pakundia Upazila participated in this scholarship exam, divided into four groups. The top 10 students from each group, totaling 40 students, were awarded. Additionally, consolation prizes were given to all participants.

The event was conducted, and the overall supervision was managed by Chairman of the Khondker Shamsul Alam Foundation Khondker Al Ashraf Mamun.
