The Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) has planned to provide first aid training to at least 2,000 students of the university.
On Saturday, the first day of the training programme was held under the joint initiative of Ducsu and Bangladesh Global Health and Research Institute (BGHRI), managed by Salimullah Muslim Hall and Fazlul Huq Muslim Hall unions.
Ducsu Health and Environment Secretary Abdullah Al Minhaj said, “By the 8th November, around 2,000 students from 18 halls will be brought under this training.”
Ducsu said a total of 200 students from the two halls participated in the first day of training.
Minhaj also said, “Students are being trained in such a way that they can provide first aid in any emergency situation before reaching a hospital. Our main goal is to increase health awareness among students.”
According to Ducsu, the training includes CPR, drowning management, snakebite response, fracture management, and self-hygiene.
Ducsu Vice President Sadik Kayem said, “Ducsu will continue its utmost effort to develop students as skilled and humane citizens.”
