After a brief pause due to digital cinema package (DCP) issues, the Eid release ‘Prince: Once Upon a Time in Dhaka’, starring Shakib Khan, has resumed screenings at Star Cineplex in Dhaka as of March 24, the fourth day of the holiday celebrations.
The action-packed drama had initially faced a setback that prevented its showing at major multiplexes, despite strong audience interest at single-screen cinemas. Star Cineplex confirmed the rescheduled screenings on social media, sharing the film’s poster and urging fans to secure tickets.
The first show at the Bashundhara City branch began at 5:20 pm and sold out immediately, prompting the addition of an 8:30 pm screening to meet demand.
Director Abu Hayat Mahmud noted that without the technical issues, the film would have enjoyed a wider release across multiple branches from day one, and he expressed optimism that Prince will soon see more shows at other venues.
In the film, Shakib Khan takes on the role of a 1990s gangster, joined by Tasnia Farin and Tollywood star Jyotirmoyee Kundu.
Supporting performances come from Nasir Uddin Khan, Ejazul Islam and Intekhab Dinar, rounding out a cast that has already received praise from fans and critics alike.
