Prime Bank has partnered with SIMEC Foundation to launch a 12-month education initiative targeting around 13,000 primary and secondary school students across Bangladesh, focusing on life skills, personal hygiene, environmental awareness and moral values.

The two organisations recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at Prime Bank’s head office in Dhaka to introduce the “Building Better Citizens in Bangladesh” programme, which will initially cover 64 schools across all eight divisions through structured, participatory learning activities, the bank said in a press release on Wednesday.

Prime Bank Additional Managing Director and Chief Risk Officer Md Ziaur Rahman and SIMEC Foundation Treasurer Foara Yasmin signed the agreement in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.

The programme will focus on three areas: water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), climate and environmental awareness, and moral education and social responsibility.

Through age-appropriate learning activities, the initiative aims to encourage responsible behaviour, strengthen environmental consciousness and develop ethical values among schoolchildren.

“At Prime Bank, we believe that true nation-building begins with investing in the knowledge and values of our younger generation,” Ziaur Rahman said.

He said the partnership would support essential learning on hygiene, climate responsibility and moral education across the country.

The initiative also reflects the bank’s commitment to youth empowerment, values-based education and the development of sustainable and resilient communities, he added.

Prime Bank said the partnership was part of its efforts to support educational initiatives beyond the classroom, promote responsible citizenship and contribute to inclusive social progress and Bangladesh’s long-term sustainable development.
