On Sunday morning, 9 November, Md Shahabuddin will again receive a guard of honour at the Circuit House before returning to Dhaka by helicopter.

The circular further stated that security has been tightened for the president’s visit. The Deputy Commissioner has been instructed to coordinate administrative activities and arrange necessary transport.

In the past, the president’s visits to Pabna during the previous government would create a festive atmosphere, with the town decorated with banners and welcome arches.

But this time, ahead of his first hometown trip in nearly a year and a half since 5 August, the district appears noticeably quiet, with little visible enthusiasm or preparation surrounding his visit.
