Presidency University organised “Presidency Esports Mania Season 1” in a festive atmosphere on its campus, featuring both an internal esports tournament and the GOAT Pro Series Final Showdown as part of the day-long programme.
The event was held from 10am to 7:30pm, and arranged by the Presidency University Esports and Innovation Club, reads a press release.
GOAT Esports served as the Segment Partner, while HITABLE acted as the Management Partner.
The successful execution of the programme was credited to Club Moderator Md Anisur Rahman and Co-Moderator Farjanul Islam Himel, who also served as event director.
Students took part in internal competitions featuring popular titles including PUBG, Free Fire, Mobile Legends-Bang Bang (MLBB), Honor of Kings, eFootball, FIFA FC and Ludo.
Organisers said the primary objective of the competition was to enhance students’ intelligence, soft skills, teamwork and strategic thinking abilities.
The GOAT Pro Series Final Showdown produced notable results in both male and female segments. In the male category, CMF Esports emerged as champions, while No One SDS finished as runner-up. In the female category,
The Upper Moons secured the championship title, with 332 MS finishing as runners-up.
Following the competitions, a colourful prize-giving ceremony was held where trophies and honours were presented to the winning and runner-up teams.
The event was attended by Anwarul Kabir, principal advisor of the board of trustees of Presidency University, as chief guest.
Special guests included Brigadier General (retd.) Md Munirul Islam, president of the Bangladesh Youth Development and Electronic Sports Association; Imran Hossain, project manager of Tencent Games Bangladesh; and esports personality Nauman Al Rafid (Dante).
Also present were Registrar Md Sakir Hossain, Dean of the School of Engineering Shahidul Islam Khan, Dean of the School of Business Professor Abul Kalam, Controller of Examinations Mohammad Zahedur Rahman, Deputy Director and Head of the Admission and Public Relations Department Zahid Hasan, along with chairpersons of various departments, faculty members, officials, staff and students.
Organisers said the initiative aimed to help students develop intelligence, soft skills and talent through esports, and added that such programmes would be continued in the future.
