The Premier Bank PLC reported a deterioration in first-quarter performance for January–March 2026, with earnings turning negative due to weaker interest income and a decline in non-interest income.

According to its unaudited consolidated financial statement, the bank posted a consolidated loss per share of Tk0.8, compared with a profit of Tk 0.23 per share in the same quarter a year earlier.

The downturn in earnings was driven by lower net interest income alongside reduced non-interest income during the quarter, the bank said in its regulatory filing.

Net asset value per share fell to Tk12.73 at the end of March, from Tk21.95 a year earlier, reflecting the impact of losses.
