The pre-registration process for aspiring pilgrims intended to perform the holy Hajj in 2027 has officially commenced on Wednesday.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the registration must be completed by 26 September, in accordance with the timeframe stipulated by the Saudi Arabian government.
The ministry has urged interested individuals to ensure their pre-registration is finished within the designated deadline.
The official schedule for the 2027 Hajj was previously unveiled on 29 May during a ceremony in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain (Kaikobad), the minister for Religious Affairs of Bangladesh, attended the event as an invited guest.
The schedule was formally presented to him by Dr Al Hassan bin Yahya Al-Manakhrah, the assistant minister of Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
Per the announced timeline, a bilateral Hajj agreement between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia is set to be signed on 8 November. Subsequently, the issuance of Hajj visas will begin on 28 January 2027.
Flight operations to transport pilgrims are expected to start on 8 April 2027. Depending on the sighting of the moon, the holy Hajj is anticipated to take place on 15 May 2027.
