Popular Life Insurance paid insurance claims worth Tk9.67 crore to customers in Chattogram region as part of a special initiative to ensure speedy and transparent settlement of claims.
The company handed over cheques amounting to Tk9 crore 67 lakh 57 thousand to policyholders at a ceremony held at Engineers Institution auditorium in Chattogram on Saturday afternoon.
Mohammed Zahirul Islam Chowdhury Rinku, chairman of Popular Life Insurance, attended the event as chief guest, while MD and CEO B M Yousuf Ali, also president of Bangladesh Insurance Forum, presided over the programme.
Amir Humayun Mahmud Chowdhury, founding director and former chairman of the company, attended as special guest.
Additional MD B M Shawkat Ali, Additional MD and Company Secretary Mostafa Helal Kabir, Senior Deputy MD Syed Mehtahar Hossain, Deputy MD Md Khalilur Rahman Sikdar, Executive Director Sajjad Mahmud Kishore, Project Director Md Mahbubur Rahman and other senior officials were also present.
In his speech, Chairman Mohammed Zahirul Islam Chowdhury Rinku stressed the importance of integrity, professionalism and hard work in ensuring customer satisfaction.
He said the company would continue working collectively to improve customer services, particularly through the prompt and proper settlement of insurance claims.
He expressed hope that such efforts would help Popular Life strengthen its position in Bangladesh’s insurance sector.
The customers receiving the claim cheques expressed satisfaction with the initiative.
