Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is set to visit Chandpur on Saturday after 22 years. The visit has created a festive atmosphere across the district.
Preparations have been completed by the district administration, law enforcement agencies and relevant offices.
Special Security Force (SSF) officials, local Members of Parliament and senior district administration officials have already inspected the venues of the programmes ahead of the visit.
The long-awaited tour has triggered celebration across Chandpur. Various programmes will be held during the one-day visit.
According to the itinerary, the Prime Minister will inaugurate canal re-excavation and family card distribution programmes. He will also attend a district BNP organisational meeting at Chandpur Club.
