On the death of former prime minister Khaleda Zia, Prime Minister of Pakistan Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday signed the condolence book at the Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad.
The Acting High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Pakistan, Israt Jahan, Press Counsellor Md Tayeb Ali, and Counsellor (Consular) Sardar Mohammad Noamanuzzaman welcomed the Pakistan prime minister at the Bangladesh High Commission. Among others present during the signing were Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Tariq Fatmi.
After signing the condolence book, Shehbaz Sharif, taking the initiative, participated in a special prayer for the forgiveness of Khaleda Zia’s soul and expressed deep condolences and sympathy to her family and the people of Bangladesh. He gratefully remembered Khaleda Zia’s contributions to the improvement of relations between the two countries.
Additionally, he mentioned his meeting with Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus and conveyed his heartfelt greetings to him. He expressed optimism for further improvement of relations between the two countries in the future.
Israt Jahan expressed heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the prime minister for the visit and his words of condolence.
