Pakistan-born USA fast bowler Ali Khan has been denied an Indian visa before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The 35-year-old shared the update on his Instagram story on Tuesday. He posted a photo of himself and wrote, “India visa denied but KFC for the win.”
Ali Khan was born in Attock City in Pakistan’s Punjab. He now plays international cricket for the United States. The fast bowler has played 15 ODIs and 18 T20Is for the USA so far. He has taken 33 wickets in ODIs and 16 wickets in T20Is.
He was part of the USA squad in the T20 World Cup in 2024. During the tournament, he played in Group A matches against India and Pakistan.
The country of his birth, Pakistan, will not be travelling to India due to political tensions between the two countries. The men in green last visited India for cricketing purposes during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. This time around, Bangladesh too might not visit India for the T20 World Cup due to security concerns.
Ali Khan was expected to be in contention for the next T20 World Cup as well. The visa issue has now raised questions over his travel plans to India.
