Police have arrested a loan defaulter of Padma Bank in Dhaka following a court order over unpaid bank dues.
Gulshan police arrested Banani-based Photo Touch Digital Colour Lab and Studio owner Md Faruk Hossain on Thursday with assistance from Padma Bank Mirpur branch, the bank said in a press release.
According to police and bank sources, the Dhaka Joint Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court No 2 issued an arrest warrant against him on 15 November in Metro Sessions Case No 8343/21 and CR Case No 278/20 filed by the bank.
The case relates to defaulted loans taken from the Mirpur branch, where the accused accumulated Tk1 crore 70 lakh in unpaid interest, the sources said.
Police said further legal procedures are underway following the arrest.
