Olivia Rodrigo’s inaugural Daisy Chain Fields festival has raised $10 million for nonprofit organisations supporting women and girls, the singer announced ahead of the event.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rodrigo revealed the figure on Friday during a press conference in California, where she appeared alongside representatives from the festival’s 10 nonprofit partners.
“Daisy Chain Fields was created to celebrate the power of what can happen when we come together to support one another,” Rodrigo said.
She thanked the artists who waived their performance fees, sponsors, ticket buyers and donors for helping the festival reach its fundraising target.
The $10 million will be distributed among 10 organisations working across areas including reproductive healthcare, maternal support and assistance for survivors of gender-based violence and abuse.
The beneficiaries are Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, Center for Reproductive Rights, FreeFrom, Jhpiego, Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, National Domestic Workers Alliance, National Institute for Reproductive Health, National Women’s Law Center and Planned Parenthood.
Rodrigo launched Daisy Chain Fields in June, describing it as a festival built around the idea that “joy, community and creativity” can drive meaningful change.
The event draws inspiration from Lilith Fair, the women-focused music festival founded by Sarah McLachlan in the 1990s.
The inaugural festival features a major lineup including Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, Mitski, Doechii, Bikini Kill, the Breeders, Garbage, Rachel Chinouriri and Devon Again.
Stevie Nicks, Karen O and Lilith Fair founder Sarah McLachlan are also set to appear as special guests.
KATSEYE was initially part of the lineup but withdrew after member Megan suffered an ankle injury during a rehearsal. She was advised by doctors to rest ahead of the group’s upcoming tour.
Speaking about the festival’s name, Rodrigo said the daisy chain represents how individuals can come together to create something “strong and unbreakable”.
The festival is scheduled to take place on Saturday in Irvine, California, marking the beginning of what Rodrigo hopes will become a lasting platform for supporting women and girls.
