The swearing‑in of the newly elected members of parliament will take place very soon, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said.
He said, “If there is any delay, the oath will be held on 16 or 17 February, but not later. All oaths will be completed within that time.”
Shafiqul Alam made the remarks at a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Saturday.
He said, “Preparations for the transfer of power are underway. The gazette has already been issued. Other tasks are progressing quickly. The chief adviser worked yesterday and today, and the Advisory Council is also working.”
He added that the identity of the person who will administer the oath to the newly elected MPs will be announced later.
