NRBC Bank Chairman Md Ali Hossain Prodhania has directed branch managers to take effective measures for recovering classified loans and expanding digital banking services.
He made the remarks at the bank’s half-yearly business conference at a hotel in Dhaka on Saturday, said a press release.
Ali Hossain said ensuring good governance, transparency and accountability at every level was essential to building a sustainable bank.
“Our foremost responsibility is to ensure the highest level of security for depositors’ funds,” he said.
He said the bank’s deposits, operating income and operating profit had continued to show positive growth, and emphasised increasing lending to the CMSME sector and expanding Bangla QR and remittance services to enhance financial inclusion.
Managing Director and CEO Md Touhidul Alam Khan said the bank must move forward by continuously improving customer service quality.
“We need to increase deposits by earning customers’ trust and satisfaction through fast, secure and efficient digital services,” he said.
He said ensuring disciplined loan disbursement and recovery in compliance with applicable rules would help strengthen the bank’s financial foundation.
Touhidul Alam Khan also emphasised advancing digital banking, building a cashless economy and promoting inclusive banking initiatives.
Risk Management Committee Chairman Md Nurul Haque, Audit Committee Chairman Muhammad Emdad Ullah, independent directors Md Abul Bashar, Md Anwar Hossain and Barrister Md Shafiqur Rahman, Deputy Managing Director and COO Mohammad Abdul Qaium Khan and Deputy Managing Director and CBO Md Shaheen Howlader attended as special guests.
All division heads, zonal heads and branch managers of the bank’s 109 branches participated the event, the press release added.
