NRB Bank PLC has signed an agreement with Oracle Financial Services Software (OFSS) and its local partner Data Edge Limited to upgrade its core banking system to Oracle FLEXCUBE UBS Version 14.8.

The upgrade marks the first implementation of UBS 14.8 in Bangladesh, a milestone in the bank’s efforts to strengthen digital banking capabilities and modernise its technology infrastructure.

The agreement was signed recently at a ceremony in Dhaka, reads a press release.

Managing Director Tarek Reaz Khan and Data Edge Limited Chairman Noor Alam Chowdhury exchanged the agreement documents at the event.

Deputy Managing Directors Md Shaheen Howlader, Anwar Uddin and M Rashidul Huda were present, along with Data Edge Managing Director Asifuzzaman, Chief Business Officer Asim Talukdar, and OFSS representatives K Rajesh Kumar, Saujato Guin and Satish Krishnamoorthy.

The upgraded platform is expected to enhance customer service, improve operational efficiency and ensure better alignment with evolving banking technologies.

It will also strengthen NRB Bank’s digital readiness and support its long-term growth ambitions in Bangladesh’s competitive banking sector.
